Ever since my encounter of the Honor 3c last year, I’ve been impressed about it over Xiaomi’s entry-level Redmi 1s as it simply delivers better usability than its competition, we then have the Honor 6 Plus which was reviewed by our very own Aaron and he has been glued to the device and dreaded the day he needs to return the phone to the team as it was a phone that’s too good that you’ll need to experience it to believe it. Fast forward today, the Honor 7 is the new hero device that continues to deliver flagship features without breaking the bank and we are just in great timing to give it our unboxing treatment.

Honor 7 Hardware Specifications

Processor: HiSilicon Kirin 935 Octa-Core (2.2GHz Cortex-A53 + 1.5GHz Cortex-A53)
RAM/ROM: 3GB LPDDR3/16GB ROM (expandable via MicroSD)
Display: 5.2-inch Full HD (1920×1080)
Camera: 20MP with Phase Detection AF (Main), 8MP with LED flash (front)
Connectivity:  WiFi 802.11ac Dual Band, Bluetooth 4.1, IR Blaster, Fingerprint Scanner
Networks: 4G LTE Cat 6, Dual SIM Standby
Battery: 3100mAh

The Honor 7’s packaging comes with the standard accessories you would expect from a new smartphone, while it doesn’t come with a protective case like some other Chinese phone makers, the Honor 7 fortunately has its screen protector preinstalled and that actually saves some trouble in getting your screen scratched if you are not in time to get one, I’m also glad that the Honor 7 still comes with a pair of in-ear headset which some folks will still require.

We’ll be working on the final review of the Honor 7 itself and perform comparisons with some other devices that we have on hand, so stay tuned on this space while we work hard on it and enjoy the video.
