Nintendo is due to announce the NX sometime this year. So far, all we know about the devices is that the controller would be feature a screen of sorts and perhaps two thumbsticks at either sides of the controller.

Interesting though it may be, details of the controller thus far have all been concepts…until now that is as a reddit user has leaked what appears to be a prototype build of the NX controller.

From the photos, the NX’s controller seems to follow the design closely, aside from the omission of a grip. The controller itself sports two thumbsticks, placed between what we assume to be the main touchscreen. As the picture also shows, it would come wth a headphone jack located on the bottom of the controller.

It’ll be pretty interesting to see how Nintendo intends to implement the touchscreen into its games. Also note that the controller doesn’t have any traditional face buttons, so button input would be yet another mystery.

UPDATE: So it turns out that the images of the Nintendo NX turns out to be a hoax created out of Photoshop and a 3D Printer. The person who made the fake controller detailed his entire process here if you’re interested in seeing it. If nothing else, kudos to the guy for taking the effort to create such a convincing fake. In the meantime, we’re going to have to wait for Nintendo to officially unveil the NX.
