Apart from a gaming smartphone, Lenovo is also looking to release their very own gaming tablet — the Legion Y700. Thanks to Lenovo executive Lin Lin, we now know that the phone will be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 SoC and a feature that allows for aspect ratio adjustment.

Since tablets usually come with a 16:10 aspect ratio (the Legion Y700 included), game content is not effectively displayed on the screen. Take MOBA games like League of Legends: Wild Rift or Honor of Kings as an example, you’re pretty much playing at a disadvantage with the 16:10 aspect ratio, especially if you’re playing against smartphone players with wider aspect ratios.

To counter this issue, the tablet will offer a feature called Ultra-Wide Viewing Mode that allows you to change the aspect ratio to 21:10 to fit more content. Additionally, you can even choose to position the content in the center or towards the bottom of the display.

According to the previously released promotional poster, the Legion Y700 gaming tablet’s LCD display measures at only 8.8-inches and provides a resolution of 2560×1600. Moreover, it pushes a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and supports 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut.

In terms of hardware, Lin Lin has disclosed that the tablet will sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 SoC, which is a fairly decent processor for gaming. The definite release date for the Lenovo Legion Y700 has not been revealed yet but we’ll be sure to keep you updated so stay tuned.
