Kingston introduces the SSDNow UV300

The SSDNow UV300 series of solid-state drives (SSDs) has just been announced by Kingston. It was built based on the 5 mm-thick 2.5-inch form-factor, making it suitable for laptops and it comes with spacers for 7mm and 9.5 thickness according to needs. They house an embed TLC NAND flash memory driven by a Phison S10 class processor. The current available capacities are 120 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB, offering a sequential transfer rate of up to 550 MB/s read and up to 510 MB/s. It has endurances (TBW) rated at 64 TB, 128 TB, and 256 TB for each capacities.

4K random access speeds are rated at about 85,000 IOPS for the 120 GB and 240 GB variants and a 75,000 IOPS for the 480 GB variant. Pricing and availability hasn’t been announced yet as more details will be released soon.
