Trying to hold a conversation in a foreign language by using an offline translator can be frustrating especially when traveling. Now, with Microsoft Translator, you can hold real-time conversations with someone speaking a foreign language via Apple Watch and Android Wear devices. Microsoft Translator has just gone through an update that allows you to hold a smartphone-assisted conversation in real-time, as long as both devices – whether an Apple Watch or an Android Wear, have Microsoft Translator app installed.

Previously, both persons would need to be speaking into one device to have a conversation in different languages, but with this new 1.5.0 version on iOS and 1.2.0.51 version on Android, you can just speak into your own smartwatch while the other person speaks into his/her tethered handset.

The app on both platforms is using the same tech behind Skype Translator, a tool that offers pretty futuristic complex speech recognition and translation proficiency that has machine learning capabililties.
