It shouldn’t be surprising that Google is very interested in cybersecurity. As one of the biggest tech companies who provide cloud storage, e-mails and so much more, Google has a vested interest to make sure that their security is up to snuff. To that end, the company will be dedicating 1 million US Dollars for cybersecurity research through their research grant program.
Google’s Vulnerability Research Grant program is available for independent security researches to contribute to Google’s data security. There are multiple sectors of research available in the program, each of which comes with its own grant funds.
The increase in research grant will not affect the USD 20,000 offered by Google to anyone who finds and reports a qualifying issue in Google’s security.
For those of you who have experience working in the cybersecurity field, you can apply for the grant here.
