We’ve seen the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 arrive to Malaysian shores earlier this year in January. All three handset sport pretty decent specs, and are selfie-centric, hence their impressive front facing cameras with f/1.9 apertures. Recently, rumors have also emerged regarding a Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro version, and they happen to be pretty spot-on in terms of its existence.
Why don’t we have the Galaxy A9 over here? Unsurprisingly, that handset is exclusive to the Chinese market and yes, you’re right – the Galaxy A9 Pro will be available only in China. An official announcement was made by Samsung regarding the device, hence we shall be seeing its launch real soon. Pro versions of smartphones usually only receive a bump in a couple of specs, and the Galaxy A9 Pro is no different. It will sport the same design aesthetics as compared to the A9, the same Super AMOLED display of 6 inches and the same Snapdragon 652 processor. The upgrade is applied to the RAM department, where the Pro variant will have 4GB instead of the 3GB on the A9. While the selfie camera remains at 8MP, the Galaxy A9 Pro receives a bump up in its rear camera to 16MP from 13MP.
The Galaxy A9’s battery already had an impressive battery capacity of 4,000mAh, and the Pro variant will be getting 25% more power packed underneath the hood, sporting a massive 5,000mAh battery. Also, not forgetting, the A9 Pro will have a fingerprint sensor embedded in its physical home button in typical Samsung fashion. Of course, it will come at a higher price point of 3,499RMB (RM2122.98) and it will come in colors of White, Pink, and the overrated Rose Gold. Till then, stay tuned!
