When year 2015 is about to start, we are all set to expect even more powerful devices in the market that does amazing stuff. Qualcomm’s next top-tier SoC – the Snapdragon 810, is a 64-bit octa-core silicon that will be powering most flagship devices next year, if you are a developer and can’t wait to get your hands on one to find out how it performs, Qualcomm has released a reference smartphone and tablet powered by its brand new SoC.

Looking at the specs itself we already have an idea of what 2015 smartphones and tablets are going to have under their hood, Qualcomm’s smartphone has a 6.17-inch Quad HD display, 4GB RAM (finally!), 32GB internal memory, 3020mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0, 13 Megapixel main camera with OIS. The tablet is a 10.1-incher with a 4K display, it has 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage with the same set of camera optics, that 7560mAh battery however got us worried about power consumption though.

Developer devices don’t come cheap of course, the Snapdragon 810 powered smartphone and tablet is available on Intrisync at $799 and $999 respectively, so if you got some cash to spend and can’t wait for flagship devices to sport the chip, buying either of these two devices could be your best Christmas present for the year, you’ll get the latest version of Android running on top so that’s worth something right?
