At midnight, hundreds of gamers gathered at the APW building at Bangsar to be the first to own a copy of the latest Street Fighter game, Street Fighter V.
It has been eight years since Street Fighter IV was first launched. As such, fans of Street Fighter were extremely hyped about the release of Street Fighter V. Attendees to the event starting pouring into Bangsar as early as 4pm.
Hosted by Play Interactive, attendees were given the chance to have a go at Street Fighter V before the game was officially released at midnight as the organizers have set up numerous consoles for the event. Local games retailer Gamer’s Hideout was at the event to process the pre-orders as well as selling consoles and peripherals to those who would like to get into the Street Fighter series.
The Malaysian branch of Streamline Studios, a game development company based in the Netherlands, were also at the Street Fighter V launch as the studio assisted Capcom in the production of Street Fighter V.
At the stroke of midnight, Street Fighter V was officially launched and the patient Street Fighter fans are able to finally get their hands on the game. Finally, those who pre-ordered Street Fighter V were entered into a lucky draw, with the grand prize being a trip to Japan for the Tokyo Games Show.
