Good news for Huawei’s Honor 7 users as they’ll be running Android Marshmallow on their devices real soon. Honor has announced the rollout on their HonorEU Twitter account that Honor 7 users will be receiving the OTA update within the next two weeks.
Some Honor 7 users who are beta testers have been running Marshmallow on their handsets for a while now. According to another tweet by HonorEU, beta testers will be receiving the final build via OTA in stages before the rollout to the rest of the users.
The Huawei Honor 7 was released July last year. The device runs on a HiSilicon Kirin 935 SoC and 3GB of RAM. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop at the time of the release with Huawei’s own Emotion UI 3.1 on top. The Chinese OEM has been making quite the headlines, collaborating with Google in the manufacturing of the Nexus 6P and recently, the release of the massive Huawei Mate 8.
