Whenever you feel like playing Super Mario or Pokemon, they are sadly only available on Nintendo’s own gaming platform and most of you might have purchased emulators from the App Store then sideload those old classic games into your devices. Here’s a good news, Nintendo will be developing new games soon for your smart devices with mobile game company DeNA, while there won’t be direct port of games but you can be rest assured that Nintendo characters are going to appear in these new titles.

The partnership took place earlier today, which Nintendo and DeNA held a press conference in Japan that officially announced the joint venture of the two companies, with Nintendo having a 10% stake in DeNA and the latter 1.24 on Nintendo. Once this joint venture takes place, DeNA will leverage on Nintendo’s characters to create new games optimized for smart devices, fans can expect new titles from the duo in this fall. Apart from that, Nintendo has also announced that the company is currently working on a new gaming console codenamed the NX, in which the company didn’t reveal too much details about it and we ourselves could assume that it could be something to do with VR, given the company has been creating games with motion controls with the introduction of the first Wii.

Only time will tell at the end of the year, if Nintendo and DeNA will start bringing some great classics back into the modern era with beautiful graphics, we are of course more interested in what the company’s NX gaming console can when it gets announced.
