It seems that Twitter and Facebook’s efforts to clamp doown on accounts promoting the actions of ISIS has been highly effective as hackers sympathetic to the terror group’s cause has threatened both Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg.

In a 25-minute propaganda video discovered by Vocativ’s deep web analysts on social-media site Telegram, an image was shown of Dorsey and Zuckerberg covered with bullet holes. This video, titles “Flames Of The Supporters”, ends with a direct threat to both CEOs.

Threats aren’t the only thing that ISIS is issuing. A group of ISIS hackers that call themselves “the sons of the Caliphate army” has also released a video claiming to show them hacking Facebook and Twitter accounts by changing profile pictures and posting ISIS materials and propaganda on the platform. While no one is able to confirm it, ISIS claims that it has hacked more than 10,000 Facebook accounts, more than 150 Facebook groups, and more than 5,000 accounts on Twitter, all of which were given to supporters.

ISIS lashing out at both Facebook and Twitter directly is a sign that the group’s recruitment efforts via social media is suffering significantly, so much so that a study reveals that the terror group’s reach on Twitter has stalled.
