Canon PowerShot G premium compact cameras have been quite a popular series line from Canon that had garnered quite a number of fans. Now, Canon has announced two new models in this line of premium digital compact cameras that were developed for different end users. Introducing the PowerShot G5 X and G9 X, both built with the latest Canon imaging technology featuring a large 1-inch 20.2MP CMOS sensor that renders higher sensitivity for superior image quality.

The design of the new PowerShot G cameras include a new optimized button layout on the user interface, while the touch screen complements the control ring around the lens for convenient settings adjustments such as ISO speed, aperture and focus.

The PowerShot G series is fitted with powerful high sensitivity CMOS sensor, and together with proprietary DIGIC 6 image processor, it creates Canon’s high-sensitivity (HS) system for better photos in varied lighting conditions.

The PowerShot G5 X uses 24-100mm 4.2x  optical zoom lens, while the PowerShot G9 X uses a 28-84mm 3x optical zoom lens. These versatile range covers wide-angle shots, shots in enclosed spaces and telephoto range. The circular 9-blade composition and large apertures of f/1.8 and f/2.0 on the PowerShot G5 X and G9 Y respectively, allows better bokeh shots in macro photography.

The Canon PowerShot G5 X is priced at RM3,199, while the PowerShot G9 X is priced at RM1,999, and they’re both available in Malaysia now.
