While Monday blues is probably happening around with most of you taking selfies of yourselves then hash tagging away on Instagram, Sony has been reportedly working on its next selfie phone, dubbed the Xperia Cosmos, it will be succeeding the Xperia C3. According to @upleaks, the phone will be preloaded with Android 5.0 Lollipop on launch and comes with an unnamed Mediatek SoC onboard, which is the very third device after the Xperia E4 and E4g to feature the low cost chip maker’s SoC, we can assume it to be the MT6595m since the Cosmos is going to be a mid-range device.
Looking at the device this time it seems Sony has packed a really huge camera sensor on the front with an LED flash, the current Xperia C3 has a 5-megapixel front facing camera and we should expect a higher camera resolution this time, other hardware assumptions will be a 5.5-inch 720p display similar to the current model, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and supporting 4G LTE networks. Sony is definitely ramping up its effort in the mid-range market, just like the M4 Aqua announced back in MWC 2015, the phone has a whole new waterproof design while packing some impressive mid-range internals, let just hope the company sells the Cosmos cheap when it goes official.
