In a recent interview, Xiaomi’s president Bin Lin has mentioned that despite of facing patent legal issues in India, the company will continue to strengthen and sell its products in India, in which the company already has plans in setting up almost 100 experience stores across India to sell its products and making it a mainstream brand.

With the recent ongoing Ericsson lawsuit, Xiaomi has took down patent infringing products and had been in discussions on how they are able to resolve this issue. Bin also mentions that patent lawsuits do happen in whichever places you sell smartphones and they are not giving up the Indian market easily despite of such challenges, we also reported back then that the company even has plans to set up a local factory to manufacturer Mi Smart Home products, which was part of the company’s expansion roadmap.

India has been a strong focus for Xiaomi due to its huge amount of population and talents that the company could salvage to further improve the company’s product line up, the company’s popular Redmi smartphones have also give local Indian players such as Micromax, Spice and Karbonn a good run for their money due to its powerful hardware internals and affordable price tag. Till then, our best wishes are with Xiaomi.
