Xiaomi to start selling Mi Air Purifier as first smart home product in India

If we were to talk about a big population and a place as polluted as China, India could very well be the next country, a couple of months back Xiaomi introduced its Mi Air Purifier, a connected air purifier that lets you freshen up your room with 10000 liters of fresh air per minute and India customers will be happy to know Xiaomi will be selling the product in their country, India is the first country out of China that Xiaomi starts selling its smart home products.

India is one of Xiaomi’s main focus in its expansion plans, with global VP Hugo Barra spearheading the team, the company has set up its office and RnD center over at India, its smartphones are already giving competitors such as Spice, Micromax and Karbonn a good run for their money with its rich ecosystem, the entry of Xiaomi’s smart home product will eventually set a difference from other smartphone makers and shall we say – India folks do really need an affordable and good air purifier.

In other ways, Xiaomi’s Hugo Barra says that the company is continuously looking for strategic partners and great individuals to help design ground breaking products for the company, Xiaomi has also been reportedly been in talks with a few local Indian companies in manufacturing their products on November last year, which is in attempt to increase its production to support the demand of Indian customers. Release dates and pricing of the Mi Air Purifier are not mentioned in the report however we should be seeing the product popping up soon in Mi India’s website.
