Rumors of Xiaomi’s new flagship has been making rounds since early last year, but Xiaomi has surprisingly gone through a whole year, stalling the Mi 4’s successor throughout 2015.

The Chinese company, which managed to jump into the top 5 phone makers worldwide, has barely penetrated the western market, with its phones not officially present in the west side.

The stalling of the Mi 5 might be due to the overheating issues of the Snapdragon 810. But Xiaomi has since confirmed that the flagship will be unveiled on the 22nd of February.

An image has surfaced from Chinese social media site Weibo, suggesting that the sleek looking Mi 5 has a resemblance to Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge, with curved sides on its screen. The alleged image of the phone also shows that the flagship has a physical home button, very much likely to have a fingerprint scanner beneath.

The Mi 5 is rumored to feature a 5.2 inch QHD screen, a Snapdragon 820 chip with 4GB of RAM, a 16MP rear camera and a 8MP front facing camera, powered by a 3,600mAh battery.

With a month left before its unveiling, let’s be patient, shall we?
