Ride sharing app Uber is looking to the skies as the company has entered a partnership with European plane maker Airbus to test run an on-demand helicopter service.

Uber’s helicopter service, named UberChopper, will operate throughout the duration of the Sundance Film Festival happening in Utah. Airbus, in partnership with Air Resources, will be utilising H125 and H130 helicopters to ferry customers to and from locations, assuming they can afford the fees. According to an Airbus spokesman, Uber will dispatch a car to pick up customers for the helicopter rides. Other information regarding the service has yet to be revealed.

This wouldn’t be the first time Uber has offered helicopter rides as the company has tested out the service in 2013 between Manhattan and the Hamptoms. The service was also experimental on during the Cannes Film Festival and the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. Prices on the rides ranges from several hundred to several thousand dollars, so it is probably safe to say that UberChopper isn’t exactly for those with a tight budget.
