The Moto 360. One of the most talked about and successful Android Wear watch, the new Moto 360 still features the traditional round face, but with much more flexibility in terms of customization and design. Not only does the new Moto 360 comes in new materials and colours, it now offers a collection specially designed for women.
Since not all wrists are of the same size and Motorola noticed that, the new Moto 360 comes in two different case sizes for men – 46mm and 42mm. As for the women’s edition – which comes in a 42mm case, features lugs that are even smaller and elegant, with a peak shaped bezel and even comes with a double wrap band for those who are fashion-forward. If you have multiple bands you want to switch according to your style, with the new Moto 360, doing that is really easy with its quick-release bands.
Each Moto 360 case is made from aircraft-grade 316L stainless steel and fitted with Corning Gorilla Glass with IP67 certification. The bezel has slimmed down noticeably to maximise the viewing area (~3mm). As for the smartwatch screen, it sports a high resolution LCD screen with the most screen to case ratio of any smartwatch.
Are you a fitness buff or lead an active lifestyle? Then you might want to look into the new Moto 360 Sport. This watch features GPS tracking that can record info such as speed, distance, pace and more. Plus you can see that information clearly, even in bright sunlight due to its new AnyLight hybrid display.
Speaking of customisation, Motorola has also upped the game by offering Moto Maker, an online design studio where you can build how your watch is to look like, and then get it shipped to you in a few days. However, unfortunately this is only applicable to US residents only.
Apparently the new Moto 360 has an improved battery life. With Ambient Mode off, you can double the battery life of the original Moto 360. The watch is fitted with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 with 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 4GB internal storage and 512MB RAM. Charging the new Moto 360 is still as convenient as the previous generation by using the wireless charger.
New apps are available in the new Moto 360 via Android Wear such as Spotify, Shazam, IFTTT, myFord Mobile, Kevo and Todolist. This smartwatch is also compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones via Android Wear although we think the functions for iOS version of Android Wear at this moment is still pretty basic.
