While action cameras are all about having the widest angle lens with the best picture quality, BenQ does things a little differently with its QC1 action camera, not only it is reasonably priced at NTD14,900, it also comes with 4G LTE connectivity, which could be either unnecessary or useful for some. The QC1 has a 13-megapixel sensor with a f/2.8 aperture that’s capable of taking 1080p30 and 720p60 videos, it has a built-in GPS and WiFI module, a juicy 2260mAh battery and 4GB of onboard storage with MicroSD expansion.

The QC1’s processing power is done by a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8926 1.2GHz quad-core processor, which explains the camera’s connectivity and BenQ has rated the camera as IPx8 certified water-resistant, which you could bring the camera 60m underwater. So what does 4G LTE connectivity do on an action camera? You’d probably guessed it, the QC1 will support live streaming your footage to YouTube over 4G LTE, and thats pretty much about it. Its definitely a good option for those who doesn’t want to carry a phone around with them when you already have an action camera on hand.

BenQ’s action camera is currently on sale in Taiwan and will support LTE bands such as B3 (1800MHz), B7 (2600MHz), and B20 (800MHz), Taiwanese telcos are also offering the action camera at the price of NT$6490 (RM853), so if you happen to be in Taiwan and see this gadget, you can be rest assured that you’ll be able to use it right here as our telcos support LTE B7.
