Remember the QX-10 and QX-100 by Sony last year, they were one of the best lens style camera that you can use it to replace your smartphone’s small paltry camera sensors. Sony Malaysia today introduced two more line ups to the lens-style camera family, the ILCE-QX1 that boasts an APS-C Sensor and allows you to use any E-mount/A-mount lenses and the DSC-QX30 with 30x optical zoom and Optical SteadyShot technology.

The ILCE-QX1 features a 20.1 Megapixel APS-C Exmor CMOS Sensor and users can now attach any of their well invested lenses into good use, you can finally leave your camera at home and totally use it as your camera by simply attaching it to the back of your smartphone, it also has Sony’s super fast BIONZ X imaging processor with improved area-specific noise reduction, the QX1 can even save RAW images and has a pop-up flash built-in.

On the other hand, the DSC-QX30 will let you zoom up close to your subjects with its whooping 30x optical zoom lens, it has a smaller 20.4 Megapixel 1/2.3” Exmor CMOS sensor and O.I.S. The QX30 is also a wide angle 24mm lens and you can zoom in even further with its great 60x Clear Image Zoom, it shoots 1080p60 videos and burst images of up to 10 fps.

The ILCE-QX1 and DSC-QX30 will apparently work with most Android and iOS devices by using the PlayMemories Mobile app,Sony has also introduced version 5.0 of the PlayMemories Mobile app with much easier operational methods, users will be able to use the app one handed and you can simply tap on the screen to activate the camera’s shutter, GPS location tags can also be included into pictures taken.

The QX1 and QX30 retails at RM1,699 and RM1,399 respectively at Sony Store The Curve and KLCC, in our opinion the pricing isn’t really too bad considering this is an accessory that can totally replace your smartphone’s camera.
