Samsung Malaysia has just released the new 2016 Galaxy A lineup here today.

The three devices – Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 boast sleek metal and glass builds, with narrower screen bezels of 2.7mm to give users a better grip, coupled with a more immersive experience when viewing the display.

The Galaxy A3 features a slightly larger screen size of 4.7 inches compared to its predecessor of 4.5 inches. While the new variant maintains a 720p screen, its rear facing camera is bumped up from 8MP to 13MP.

The Galaxy A5 too sports a larger screen of 5.2 inches compared to its previous iteration. This time however, its screen resolution receives an upgrade to 1080p.

On the other hand, Samsung’s Galaxy A7 maintains its phablet-ish 5.5 inch screen, including its 13MP rear facing camera.

The Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 sport 2300mAH, 2900mAH and 3300mAh batteries respectively along with quick charging technology.

One thing to note is the addition of OIS to both their rear facing and front facing shooters for prevention of blur images and a really impressive aperture of F 1.9 for better low light performance. Users can double tap on the home button to launch the camera app in an instant. It seems that the A series is largely catered for selfie lovers with features such as Wide Selfie, Palm Selfie and Beautifying Effects. Also, all three has the option of expandable storage of up to 128GB via micro SD since you’ll be storing a tonne more of good quality photos.

The Galaxy A3 is priced at RM1,299, the Galaxy A5 at RM1,599 and the Galaxy A7 at RM1,899. All these come in Black, Gold, White and Pink Gold color options. The 2016 Galaxy A series is available at Samsung brand stores near you.

Coming at such competitive price points, the A series, notably the A7 might give the Galaxy S6 a run for its money, especially with its high performing F 1.9 camera lens. What do you think about this refreshed lineup? Let us know your thoughts below!
