Be prepared to battle it out in another galaxy as Star Wars Battlefront Beta will be available on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC via Origin on October 8.

Star Wars Battlefront Beta is a technical test by the developers and will give you just a little taste of the Star Wars battle fantasies you can be expecting when the games launches officially on November 17. It was 10 years since the last Star Wars Battlefront game and fans of the last game have been very eager for this game ever since it was announced.

This article is going to be preparing you for the beta of the game on all platforms especially PC players who want to make sure their rigs are also prepared for the mission.

MODES

Players can expect three modes in the beta to be played across three amazing locations a.k.a planets.

Walker Assault on Hoth

Choose a side and fight in an epic 40-player battle as the Rebel team work to destroy the Empire’s onslaught of AT-AT’s by calling in Y-wing bombers. Or, side with the Empire team and protect your walkers while utilizing their mighty weaponry to crush the Rebel objective. Teamwork is crucial.

Drop Zone on Sullust

Escape pods are crashing down and you and your team must fight to control them. With its frantic 8v8 matches, Drop Zone this will be more competitive and allow you to put your combat and strategy skills to the test.

Survival Mission on Tatooine

Fight solo or dual it with a friend via co-op or split-screen ( on consoles ) as you battle to hold off waves of Imperial forces including AT-ST’s, TIE fighters, elite stormtroopers and more.

No Offline Play

Despite the last mode above, Survival Mission on Tatooine, is capable of a single-player experience or split-screen TV on consoles, the beta is not capable of offline play as confirmed by Battlefront community manager Mat Everett. As for the full game releasing on November 17; yes, you’ll be able to play it offline.

Game Size

When the Star Wars Battlefront open beta kicks off on October 8, it’s going to need 11GB of space on the drives ( preferably SSD for better loading speed ) of PC gamers.

For those on Playstation 4 and Xbox One, you will require 7GB of free space in your drive. All of it will be through downloads from your respective digital distribution platform.

PC gamers will have an advantage here as EA Games will be allowing PC users to pre-load the beta starting at 1.00 AM GMT on October 7 and will be able to immediately head straight into action the moment the beta is live. #pcmasterrace

Companion App

It features the strategic card game Base Command and lets you earn in-game Credits that unlock Star Cards, weapons and more in Star Wars Battlefront.

The companion allows you to check out game stats, progressions, customize loadouts and character appearance yet connect with friends and many more features to be added once the game is released.

DICE, the developers of this installation of Star Wars Battlefront and also dev of the Battlefield series, have previously had this ‘game and outside game companion’ experience in Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline with a Commander Mode & Hacker Mode game available on mobile platforms.

The Companion apps will be on Android and iOS platforms only

The Beta levelling and progression system allows you to advance to level 5. Upon hitting the maximum level cap, you will not be able to progress to further levels. Fret not hardcore gamers, there will be items to be unlocked other than ranking up.

Luke and Skywalker? EA says that Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker are being included in the beta, where the most skilled will get a chance to play as.

PC Graphics Optimization

Judging by the developers history perspective, DICE wasn’t so convincing in delivering Battlefield 4’s Beta as there were tons of bugs and graphical issues with the Beta which eventually stayed till the final game but most of it was eventually fixed with support and “DICE FIX THE GAME” quotes by the community.

For now, you could prepare yourself by installing the best drivers according to your graphics card.

AMD Catalyst 15.9.1 Beta Driver

The latest beta driver released recently included Star Wars Battlefront Beta performance and quality optimization making this the best driver for AMD card users to update to before launching the game.

Nvidia Game Ready Driver 355.98

No beta drivers or recent Nvidia drivers were released with notes including Star Wars Battlefront Beta optimization. The latest one released on 22 September 2015 should be the best one as of now to be installed on your PC.
