OPPO’s R7 is the company’s most iconic smartphone ever made, the nice folks over at OPPO Electronics have sent over a rather premium looking invitation card that will get us to witness the local launch of the company’s new smartphone on July 7th, which we’ll be present to perform coverage and hands on with the new device, but before that, we did in fact have an early hands on with the device already and we’re going to give you a TL;DR impression of it.
The R7 and R7 Plus takes on a totally different design language from the R5, both phones measure 6.3mm, which is still incredibly thin. Aesthetically, the phones feel extremely premium and solid on hand all thanks to its all metal body design and that 2.5D contoured glass on its display does give the phone extra charm in conjunction with its already great looking design. Under the hood, OPPO still maintains the very same first generation Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core processor with two groups of quad cores clocked at 1.5GHz and 1.0GHz respectively and comes with 3GB RAM, performance is snappy in our first impressions and OPPO has really done optimisations to ColorOS to achieve that, and to give you the next teaser, both the R7 and R7 Plus will come preloaded with the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system.
