Let’s take a selfie! Oops, that’s pretty bad quality isn’t it? While smartphones today have higher resolution front facing cameras, they only produce great pictures in good lighting conditions. Take a look at Olympus’s PEN E-PL7, this is a selfie-oriented camera that has a 3-inch flip out LCD that lets you take selfies with its 16 Megapixel Live MOS Micro Four Thirds sensor, a great 81 AF point system and a sequential shooting speed of up to 8 fps. Similar to most PEN series cameras, it features a metal and vintage design that looks stunningly attractive unlike most selfie point and shoots that looks cheap and plasticky, it also features 3-Axis image stabilization and a TruePic VII image processor that lets you capture clear images with lively colors. Other features include WiFi Direct, HDR, 1080p video shooting and some great built-in filters for your pictures.

The PEN E-PL7 is expected to ship around sometime in late September and will be priced around USD$600 for the body only and USD$700 for the standard F3.5-5.6 14-42mm kit lens, this will be a direct competition and answer to Sony’s recently announced Alpha 5100 which we’ve seen recently, though we have to admit the latter would have a more powerful imaging sensor and performance, let’s hope it sells cheap here.
