Think the MWC 2015 heat is all over? Its not quite yet in Microsoft’s case, the company has just silently announced its most affordable Windows Phone model ever, the entry level Lumia 430 will go on sale at the price of a mere $70 before taxes, which literally translates into RM275 after applying our upcoming 6% GST and challenges the Moto E and ASUS ZenFone 4 over here.

The Lumia 430’s specs is rather unimpressive but for that price tag, we shouldn’t be complaining, it comes with a dual-core Snapdragon 200 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and has 8GB of expandable storage, a 2-megapixel rear camera and 0.3MP front camera, and powered by a 1500mAh removable battery, there’s also Dual SIM HSPA+ support with WiFi 802.11n and Bluetooth connectivity.

Microsoft is offering 30GB of free OneDrive storage and the phone will come preloaded with Windows 8.1 and the Lumia Denim update, the Lumia 430 will also receive an upgrade to Windows 10 once Microsoft flips the switch on, which definitely makes a difference from entry level Android phones which most of them are still stuck on Jelly Bean, for that price tag, we really can’t complain about its hardware.

Microsoft will start selling the Lumia 430 in the APAC region from April onwards, its slightly higher end Lumia 435 sibling will be making presence around that time as well and we expect a local launch event invite from Microsoft soon
