Apple launched a Mac Pro Repair Extension Program for users whose Mac Pro’s are facing certain issues, mostly video related. Apple has sent out notices to its authorized service providers, informing them regarding this new repair program and the eligibilty of Mac Pro’s for the repair.

Apple has stated in the notice:

Apple has determined that graphics cards in certain Mac Pro (Late 2013) may cause distorted video, no video, system instability, freezing, restarts, shut downs, or may prevent start up. Mac Pro computers with affected graphics cards were manufactured between February 8, 2015 and April 11, 2015.

Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will repair eligible Mac Pro systems exhibiting the above symptoms free of charge.

It is unclear whether Apple will be announcing the program to the public or will depend on its retailers to inform their customers about this repair program. On another note, there have been countless complaints about similar problems like the ones mentioned above by Mac Pro user, some of them not falling under the eligibilty date.

This isn’t the first repair program launched for Apple products as the company launched a similar one for Macbook Pro’s launched between 2011 and 2013, with similar graphic issues. Are you experiencing issues as such? How about double-checking with your Apple Authorized Service Provider?
