Ubuntu has promised full convergence to the public by unveiling its first tablet – the Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition tablet. While the name may seem lenghty, let’s call it the Aquaris M10, or better still, the M10, for the time being.

The tablet is somewhat a modified version of the current Aquaris M10, only running Ubuntu’s latest software. As convergence is the keyword here, Ubuntu’s first tablet can be connected to an external display via its micro HDMI port for a PC experience, together with a connected bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Ubuntu promises a full-sized PC experience.

The M10 sports a 10.1 inch FHD display, protected by Dragontrail Asahi. Weighing at 470g with a thickness of 8.2mm, the tablet is powered by a 7280mAh battery. Underneath the hood lies a MediaTek Quad Core MT8163A processor clocked up to 1.5GHz, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage along with expandable storage via micro SD. The rear camera is unconventional for a tablet, coming at 12MP with autofocus and dual-flash.

According to Canonical, the company backing Ubuntu, this experience of convergence will be coming to mobile devices soon. Any screaming hipster Ubuntu fans out there? Tell us what do you think.
