Having officially announced these handsets last weekend, Lenovo has finally unveiled two entry level and budget friendly devices – the Lenovo Vibe K5 and Vibe K5 Plus.
First, we will be diving into their similarties. Both smartphones sport very similar outlooks with a metallic build, the same expandable storage configuration of 16GB, 2GB of RAM and a 2,750mAh removable battery. The Vibe K5 and K5 Plus feature a dual SIM slot. They both sport a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing camera.
The main differences between the Lenovo Vibe K5 and K5 Plus are their display resolutions and their processors running under the hood. Although both handsets feature 5 inch display, the Vibe K5 features a slightly lacksture display at 720p while its older brother gets a full HD display at 1080p. Powering the Vibe K5 is a Snapdragon 415 processor while the Vibe K5 Plus receives a higher end Snapdragon 616.
In terms of software, the Lenovo has its own Vibe UI running on top of the aged Android Lollipop instead of Marshmallow. Lenovo did not say on whether these smartphones will be receiving a Marshmallow update anytime soon. Till then, stay tuned!
