Developers who have been lamenting about having to still support very old versions of Internet Explorer will be glad to know that Microsoft has finally released a statement that there will be no more technical support for Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10. In fact, there will be a patch going live on January 9, 2016 which will bug and annoy you to upgrade your browser to the latest version supported by their version of Windows. This naggy patch will be mostly aimed at Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 users who are still using the dinosaur version of Internet Explorer.

So, what does it mean by ending of technical support? Basically, Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10 will not be receiving any more security updates, or any kind of patches, which can leave devices susceptible and vunerable to malicious attacks. While this patch is to bug you to upgrade to Internet Explorer 11, it is interesting to know that this will be the last version of IE supported by Windows before having to move on to Edge on Windows 10.
