While we have seen flagships being announced at IFA 2014, HTC has announced its Desire 820, the first 64-bit Android smartphone that features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core CPU, the Desire 820 is apparently a mid-range smartphone despite of its capable processor. The company has also go all way in to improve selfie photography on the Desire 820 by introducing a superb 8 Megapixel front facing camera that comes with software features such as Live Make Up and Photo Booth, the main camera remains the same 13 Megapixel f/2.2 BSI sensor found on some of its other models like the One Mini 2, One E8 and the older Desire 816. The phone also features a nice color trim around its frame and the usual loud sounding BoomSound stereo speakers.

Other hardware specifications of the Desire 820 includes 2GB of RAM, 16GB Built-in storage expandable up to 128GB, 5.5-inch 720p resolution IPS display, WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and a 2600mAh battery. The Desire 820 also comes in a variety of colors as well and some of them being matte backcovers, so you aren’t left with those cheap glossy plastic material. HTC hasn’t released any pricing as of now and the device is expected to go on sale at the end of September.
