After announcing its flagship GALAXY Note 4 yesterday, Samsung continues to introduce a rugged tablet for business, meet theGALAXY Tab Active, an 8” tablet that comes in mid-range specifications. The tablet comes with an anti-shock covering that is able to withstand a 1.2-meter drop with the protective cover on, it is also IP67 certified water and dust resistant which will be very useful for users who wants to bring a tablet to tough environments without worrying about damaging it.
In terms of specs, the GALAXY Tab Active sports an unnamed Quad-Core 1.2GHz processor, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage with MicroSD expansion, 8” WXGA (1280×800) TFT LCD display, 3.1MP AF/1.2MP main and front cameras, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and a 4450mAh battery. The tablet will come preloaded with Android 4.4 KitKat. In addition, Samsung also includes the C-Pen stylus at the tablet’s protective to cover for using the tablet should users aren’t able to operate the tabletwhen wearing gloves, Samsung’s enterprise grade KNOX platform is also available on the tablet as well.
Lastly, Samsung is also throwing in a Mobile Care Service for the tablet that delivers an extended basic warranty period up to three years and a Smart Tutor Service that gives every users a safe and seamless access to technical support. Availability and pricing has not been stated by Samsung officials, the tablet will come in bothe WiFi only and WiFi+LTE variants.
