Mirroring a Chrome tab onto your TV via Chromecast would soon be a lot easier as the company is currently beta-testing a feature that will allow you to do so without installing an extension.

Google evangelist François Beaufort revealed via his Google Plus page that the chromium team is currently experimenting with casting tabs without the Google Cast extension installed. This new feature, should it be implemented, will allow you to right-click on the page and select ‘Cast’, negating the need for the Google Cast extension. This functionality is available for the beta version of Chrome and you can access it by typing ‘chrome://flags/#media-router’ into the adress bar and enabling the ‘Media Router’ flag.

Should the feature make it out of Beta and into the consumer-ready version of Chrome, casting websites onto your TV would become much more convenient.
