After releasing the Fitbit Blaze, Fitbit has unveiled a new fashion-forward fitness wearable today – the Fitbit Alta. Since it’s fashion-forward, the Alta will mostly be catered to, but not limited to, the womenfolk. Men can wear them too.

The new fitness wearable by Fitbit features a satin finish and a sleek silver stainless steel design, with a shiny gold variant coming soon to the fashionista’s out there. Coupled with that are stylish interchangeable accessory bands in different materials and designs such as leather bracelet, silver bangle or the classic fitness wristband.

The Fitbit Alta sports an OLED tap display, which shows your activity stats, notifications and obviously, the time. Users also have the option to customize their watch faces. Like many fitness trackers, the Alta monitors your steps, workout routines and sleeping pattern. Apart from that, the wearable includes reminders for you to stay active instead of lazing around in a stationary position. The Alta will “annoy” you with reminders if you’re in an inactive state for too long, but the feature can be turned off via the “Do Not Disturb” option if you happen to be in a meeting.

Also featured in the Fitbit Alta is SmartTrack, which is an automatic exercise recognition technology designed to detect whether you’re running, cycling or doing sports and other physical activities alike. From that, it sets weekly goals for you, alongside the occasional encouragement towards your personal achievements. Your weekly goals are tracked on your smartphone via the Fitbit app and can be personalized according to your fitness pace.

Equipped with all-day activity and automatic sleep tracking, the Alta provides your health and fitness stats such as step-count, calories burned, active minutes in real time. Apart from that, it learns your sleeping hours to set silent vibrating alarms to give you that subtle nudge to rise and shine. Fitbit promises up to 5 days of battery life on a single charge.

The Fitbit Alta will be available for purchase in March 2016, at major retailer stores nationwide at an affordable price of RM 600. Any ladies interested? Men? Leave your comments below!
