You have heard how Microsoft has increased the interest of programming by introducing it to children. Now, Cyberview, the Technology Hub Enabler behind the success of Cyberjaya, together with its partner Terato Tech, has collaborated with Microsoft to introduce the world of programming with its Cyberview Minecraft Camp 2015. The camp was held for two days at the Pentagon Suite, Wisma Suria Cyberjaya, and had 28 participants aged between 8-12 taking part in this fun learning experience.
As part of Microsoft’s Hour of Code global campaign, Cyberview Minecraft Camp was aimed to use a game loved by kids, to teach them how to code in order to spark creativity in the next generation of innovators in a fun and easy learning process.
Since the game teaches problem-solving and basic coding skills, in addition to teamwork as they navigate, mine, craft and explore in a 2-D Minecraft world, the children learn programming fundamentals by plugging together blocks to complete actions and generate computer code.
Cyberview believes in having the right mixture of talents to drive a Tech Hub. CLL – Talent was initiated to nurture and empower these creative young minds to explore their potential and follow their passion, and develop the next generation of talents. Past programmes organised by Cyberview under the same umbrella include the Cyberjaya Lego Robotics educational classes as well as the Cyberjaya Robo Race 2015, an open bot community platform to encourage the coming together of like-minded people under the line of robotics.
