Samsung Galaxy S7 may arrive earlier than expected

Rumors, rumors, rumors. For now, Samsung is still keeping mum about the new Galaxy S7, but from rumors and leaks, we would be probably seeing the new Galaxy S7 looking pretty similar to the Galaxy S6. In terms of looks, Samsung most likely would keep the curves and base design since the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge were very well received and applauded.

The Korea Times reported from a source close to Samsung, “As the S6 and S6 Edge represented progress, the S7 will have improvements both in picture quality, performance and other some new features. The key point is can consumers enjoy content with enhanced viewing quality and boosted processing speed.” With this, we can expect the Galaxy S7 to look much like the Galaxy S6, with minor tweaks to differentiate them.

In addition, there have also been sources claiming that the Galaxy S7 may be built with another type of material. Apparently, Samsung has been experimenting with magnesium based alloy for the material of the new device, claiming that it would make the phone lighter but stronger, on top of improving on heat dissipation. We are expecting the new device to sport both metal and glass since this still gives it a premium feel. We also think Samsung will still make the battery not removable since this a unibody would allow Samsung to make its device slimmer.

Another thing to look forward to is the display of the Galaxy S7. With 4k phones in the market now, we can probably expect Samsung to up the game and produce something like an 8k display. This would also improve on the Gear VR experience since it would be much sharper.

Since there are some phones that have incorporated eye-scanning technology, we might also see that in the Galaxy S7 in addition to the dual cameras, which might sport either a new BRITECELL camera, or a IMX300 sensor seen in the Xperia Z5. Who knows? Maybe Samsung might work on its own camera sensor, to boost its low-light photo taking capabilities.

Now, when do you think we will see the new Galaxy S7 announced? Most likely we can safely assume in early January during CES 2016, or maybe during MWC in late February next year.
