CES 2016 : Lenovo introduces new laptops and desktop machines for the general market

Of course, the ThinkPads aren’t the only one that is being featured in CES. Other devices from Lenovo are also given the spotlight in Las Vegas.

Lenovo’s YOGA line is getting a new entry by way of the YOGA 900S. Measuring in at 12.8 mm and 999g, the YOGA 900S is slimmer and lighter than the other YOGA models released thus far. Constructed out of carbon fiber, this Windows 10 laptop is powered by an Intel Core m7 processor and can even be fitted with a QHD screen. The YOGA 900S is capable of \\up to 10.5 hours of video playback and will support an optional active pen for those who wish to do so. The YOGA 900S will retail at USD 1,099 in March.

Gaming is also part of Lenovo’s 2016 agenda. To that end, the company will be launching four new additions to the Y series of gaming laptops, one of which is the new Y900. Running on Windows 10, the Y900 will feature a 6th generation Intel Core i7 K-series processor, a Nvidia GTA 980M graphics card, a mechanical backlit multi-colour keyboard, and a 17-inch screen. Prices for the Y900 laptop begins at USD 1,999 and will be available in June.

Lenovo’s partnership with gaming brand Razer has resulted in the introduction of the ideacentre Y900 RE (Razer Edition) and the Y27g RE Curved Gaming Monitor. The ideacentre Y900 RE comes with a 6th Generation Intel Core i7 K-series processor and dual Nvidia GTX 970 discrete graphics, both of which can be easily upgraded in the future. The Y27g is a Curved Gaming Monitor that has a 144Hz refresh rate and an 8 ms response time. Both the ideacentre and Y900 and the Y27g comes with a special Razer Edition which implements the gaming brand’s Chroma lighting on the machines. The ideacentre Y900 RE desktop will have a starting price of USD 2,999, while the Y27g monitor will be priced at USD 549 with the Razer edition costing USD 50 more. Both the desktop and the monitor is currently scheduled to be launched in June.

If watching movies is more your thing, then Lenovo has the ideacentre 610S. The 610S is the world’s first compact home PC that comes with an optional removable wireless projector, allowing the user to turn any wall into an instant 100-inch home theatre. Featuring a unique triangular design, the ideacentre 610S comes with a 6th Generation Intel Core i7 processor, up to Nvidia GTX 750Ti 2GB GDDR5 graphics card, up to 16GB DDR5 memory and up to 2TB of storage. This unique combination of computer and projector has a starting price of USD 849 and will be made available in June.

For the productive ones among us, Lenovo has two iterations of the ideapad at CES, the powerful ideapad 700, and the portable ideapad 710S. The ideapad 700 comes with a 15-inch and 17-inch variant that runs on Windows 10. Both machines are capable of supporting the latest 6th Generation Intel Core i7 processors, up to Nvidia GTX 950M graphics, 1TB of spacious storage and optional JBL stereo speakers. For the ideapad 710S, the laptop measures at just 1.16kg and comes with a 6th Generation Intel Core processor. This 13-inch laptop offers an optional Intel Iris graphics and an ultra-narrow bezel display. Stroage is handled by the 256GB high-speed PCIe SSD, allowing users to launch apps and transfer files faster than ever. Both laptop models will have a starting price of USD 799. The launch date of the ideapad 700 is currently scheduled for June while the ideapad 710S will launch a month later in July.
