Canon Malaysia today has made available the PowerShot SX 410 HS, a compact prosumer camera that comes with a 20-megapixel CCD sensor and a gorgeous 40x optical zoom range, even though with GST included, the camera is still pretty affordable at the price of RM799, which we believed that the company has absorbed the tax on behalf on consumers.
In detail, the PowerShot SX410 has a starting focal range of 24-960mm with a f/3.5-f/6.3 aperture which is pretty standard for most long zoom compacts, if the users wants to reach the subject even further the company’s ZoomPlus technology will be able to take users as far as 80x without noticeable loss in quality, the new camera is powered by Canon’s DIGIC 4+ imaging processor to deliver crisp images. The PowerShot SX410 also features a grip-type camera design for ergonomics and stability when photographers are taking pictures with the camera’s 40x zoom.
For that affordable price tag, there’s a catch on this as the PowerShot SX410 only supports recording HD resolution (1280×720) video at 25 fps and has a maximum ISO of 1600, which is considerably low and unsuitable for low light shots, if you are the type of photographer who wants a long zoom compact that won’t burn your wallet and always take pictures in daylight, this could be the best buy
