With the recent launch of the Asus Zenfone Zoom, many have been expecting the next line of Zenfone’s to storm the smartphone market this year. Some have also been hopeful of the new high end Zenfone 3, expected to launch in mid-2016, to be able to pick a fight with flagships from LG and Samsung.

Nevertheless, benchmark results of a Zenfone 3 variant have been spotted on GFX Bench. Also known as the the Z010DD, it shouldn’t be Asus’ highest end Zenfone this year as its specs are tame compared to that of the 4GB RAM Zenfone 2.

We are definitely seeing a midrange variant of the Zenfone 3 with 3GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 615 processor. Running on Google’s latest Android Marshmallow, its screen is a bit of a letdown with an average 5.9 inch 720p display.

Another benchmark surfaced not too long ago as well. Model numbered Z012D, its resolution is upped to 1080p but shrinking the display to 5.5 inches, switching to a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor instead of the 615.

Don’t be disappointed just yet. Considering the number of Zenfone’s released last year, we are sure that Asus has more in store for us. For now, just sit tight and wait.
