A recent report revealed that Apple Music have achieved over 10 million subscribers, but the music streaming platform has since been crunching on the numbers, reaching 11 million.

This latest figure was revealed on a podcast known as The Talk Show, hosted by renowned Apple blogger John Gruber, who interviewed Apple’s senior vice presidents – Craig Federighi and Eddy Cue. Both of them claimed that Apple Music has reached 11 million subscribers and counting, instead of the reported 10 million. The number can almost be confirmed as true since it slipped out from big time Apple representatives.

This is great news for Apple, and would definitely have silenced many critics who were against Apple Music’s three-month free trial, claiming that Apple would be making losses instead. It sure seems like a a risk well taken by the Cupertino company.

As compared to other music streaming platforms, old timer Spotify has approximately 75 million users, nearly a third of them who are paying subscribers at 20 million users. Tidal on the other hand, a premium service which emphasizes on quality sound has around a million users, largely dwarfed by Apple Music who achieved the 11 million in only 8 months.

Have you tried Apple Music? The music streaming service is still offering its three-month free trial for those who are interested.
