Apacer, the company famous for memory cards and storage, has come out with the AS720, the first dual interface SSD in the world.
Coming equipped with both SATA III and a USB 3.1 Type-C connector, the AS720 is features stable flash chips and adopts a two-in-one high-speed transmission interface design. Tests done by Apacer shows that data access through the SATA III interface gives the AS720 a read speed of up to 540MB/s and a sequential write spped of up to 450MB/s.
The USB 3.1 interface is no slouch either as it has a read/write speed of up to 540/450MB/s. The speed of the AS720 allows users to copy a HD video that is 5GB in size into the SSD in under 15 seconds.
All of that performance is enclosed in a body that measures only 0.7cm in thickness and 75g in weight. The AS720 features a 30G anti-vibration and 3000G anti-shock protection, making it resilient against collisions.
Built-in advanced wear leveling and Error Correction Code (ECC) functions and Windows 7 Trim command support gives the AS720 enhanced reliability of data transmission and a longer service life. Using it as a system hard disk would result in improved response capabilities, multitasking functions, start-up speed and read/write efficiency.
