Revised Google Glass spotted on the FCC website

The first Google Glass was an interesting concept, but it didn’t manage to catch on. Now though, a second version of the Google Glass has appeared on the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) website and it seems to have some rather interesting design choices this time.

At first glance, this new Google Glass, which is being dubbed as the “Enterprise Edition”, looks roughly the same as the original. However, unlike the original, the Enterprise Edition is foldable, much like a pair of regular glasses. The Glass prism also seems to be longer than the original.

Other interesting features of the Enterprise Edition is the charging port. Featuring a set of pogo pins with large circles that we assume are magnets on either side of the contacts, it looks like the Google Glass has taken pointers from Apple’s MagSafe connector.

A user manual is available on the FCC’s website with various interesting information on the Google Glass. According to the manual, the power button is now located on the back of the device and there is now a camera light on the front of the device. The manual also states that the Glass is capable of supporting 5GHz Wi-Fi.

For hardware, the new Google Glass will come with an Intel Atom processor as well as some other upgraded internal. It will also support an external battery pack.

If the Enterprise Edition looks like something you’d like to own, you might be disappointed to know that this pair of Google Glass will be aimed at business, being sold only through the “Glass for Work”program.
