It’s the middle of November and the end of year 2014 is near, tech companies like Acer aren’t quite done yet with introducing new products into the market. The company has launched three smartphones today, the huge 5.7-inch phablet Liquid X1, a super sleek looking mid-range Liquid Jade and an elegant looking entry level Liquid Z500 smartphone. These new smartphones from Acer costs no more than RM1,000 and has pretty decent hardware onboard.
The Liquid X1 is the star of the launch, featuring dual front firing speakers with Dolby sound technology and is powered by a Mediatek Octa Core 1.7GHz processor mated to 2GB of RAM, the phone also supports LTE networks and has a powerful 13 Megapixel f/1.8 BSI main camera. It’s huge display is an Gorilla Glass 3 protected IPS panel with 720p resolution which looks pretty decent despite not having the highest screen resolution available, the phone has 16GB of flash storage expandable via MicroSD and a 2,700mAh battery.
The Liquid Jade is a more interesting device, featuring a curved 5-inch IPS 720p Gorilla Glass 3 display and a slim 7.5mm body, the phone has a Mediatek Quad Core 1.3GHz processor mated with 2GB RAM, the same 13 Megapixel f/1.8 BSI main camera found on the Liquid X1 and has 16GB of internal flash expandable via MicroSD. Unfortunately, the phone doesn’t support LTE networks and has a pretty small 2,100mAh battery, the phone feels really light on hand and its made of glossy plastic.
The entry level Liquid Z500 is an extremely affordable and elegant looking device that doesn’t look and feel like an entry level smartphone, priced below RM400, the Liquid Z500 has a 5-inch 720p IPS display and a 8 Megapixel f/2.0 main camera. The phone’s performance is managed by a Mediatek 1.3Ghz Quad Core processor with 2GB of RAM, it has 16GB of flash storage expandable via MicroSD and accepts Dual SIM cards with Active 3G standby. The Liquid Z500’s textured back cover is what makes the device really stand out as one of the nice looking entry level smartphones out there and it supports premium sound from DTS.
These three new Acer smartphones are comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat preloaded with Acer’s Liquid UI, the phones are readily available for purchase in the market, the Liquid X1 retails at RM999, the Jade at RM799 and the Z500 at RM499, do head on to phone resellers or Acer authorized dealers to check them out.
