Apple has introduced the 3D Touch and Force Touch feature on its iPhones, the Apple Watch and the 12 inch Macbook. The embedded technology seems to be a cool feature, rather than a useful one. Just recently, we have rumors of Meizu’s upcoming flagship having Force Touch capabilities, and now it seems that the new Nexus smartphone by HTC will be joining the reins as well.

According to a Weibo source, Google and HTC will be bringing pressure touch technology to the next Nexus line of smartphones. The somewhat trend, which apparently originated from Apple, isn’t something new among Chinese OEM’s. Rumors suggest that Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo are in the midst of developing such technology. In fact, OEM’s such of ZTE have been experimenting with the technology, with the likes of its Axon Mini.

The interesting part is Google is rumored to have a 3D Touch equivalent available natively on the Android operating system. It’s hard to tell whether the feature will be introduced at Google I/O later this year, but we’ll just have to wait and see whether this supposedly convenient feature will make its way to every other OEM in the future.
