Xiaomi has been really silent about its tablet line up after releasing the ‘iPad mini + iPhone 5c’ clone Mi Pad to the masses last year, online sources have revealed leaked benchmark screenshots of the upcoming tablet from the upcoming Chinese startup, instead of using NVIDIA’s latest silicon, it appears that the company might have switched to Intel’s platform for the Mi Pad 2, NVIDIA sure has a hard time convincing OEMs to use its chip ever since the Tegra 3 and we are not surprised that Xiaomi would want to look for a different chipmaker for its new tablet.

Knowing Xiaomi, it would seem absurd to use a inferior component for its new device however we could hazard a guess that the company might actually release a Pro model of its Mi Pad 2, just like how the company did for the Mi Note this year, hence the benchmark results doesn’t necessarily mean that the tablet would be the final product. Of course, Xiaomi could also be exploring the way on how it can work with Intel together to bring down the price of its tablets just like many other Chinese OEMs, since Intel has been known for subsidising OEMs such as ASUS.

Xiaomi is expected to host an event in December to announce its new smartphone, which we hope CEO Lei Jun or Hugo could shed more details on the company’s upcoming tablet and we shall hold our breath till then.
