As we approach MWC at Barcelona next week, the spec sheet of Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship, the Mi 5 has been leaked in full detail. The specs were spilled from alleged slides meant for the flagship’s presentation during the launch next week.
According to source GizChina, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will come in 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM variants as predicted via various rumors prior to this. Both variants will be sporting the powerful Snapdragon 820 chip with a clock speed of 2.15 GHz. The 3GB RAM version is tipped to feature a 16MP camera equipped with OIS and laser autofocus whereas the higher end 4GB RAM version will come with a massive 23MP rear facing shooter. Both variants will reportedly have 32GB of internal storage and a 5.2 inch 1080p display. Looks like QHD will have to wait.
Other specs according to the slides include micro SD expansion, a rarity in flagship devices nowadays, Cat. 10 LTE, USB Type C with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, dual SIM slot and NFC. According to GizChina, a previous leak shows the Mi 5 to be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery.
The Mi 5 will be unveiled at Barcelona next week. Xiaomi’s devices have always been highly competitive when it comes to pricing, making it widely popular in the Asian consumer market. We shall see whether Xiaomi will be able to maintain its competitive price point this time round.
