What’s playing at the Core?

With the age of simplicity, mobility and wireless-ness being dawned upon humankind ever so rampantly in the recent century, almost if not everyone would appreciate a high-end audio sound system minus the tangles (from wires) and bulk (from the stereo set itself). In light of this, audio tech companies have been working tirelessly to deliver more innovative and versatile products in order to lay waste the aforementioned situation. However, not many have succeeded like how Mass Fidelity has.

Behold, the Core. Not just another pretty looking Bluetooth speaker but in actual fact, it is one mammoth of a speaker although possessing the size of a jewelry box. A gem it is indeed as this little fella even managed to fool audiophiles into thinking that the sound it reproduces was coming from a physical traditional 2-speaker stereo set but thanks to the Core’s Acoustic Holography technology, the miniature-sized speaker manages to physically recreate sound in space likened to a hologram albeit with much purer sounds compared to traditional stereo or surround sound.

No longer would listeners be plastered to a given position (i.e. between 2 speakers) to immerse in full stereo sound any longer as the Core incorporates Wave Field Synthesis which produces a virtual acoustic scene to eliminate the “sweet spot”. Hence, listeners are now able to get jiggy with it anywhere they’d like.

According to Mass Fidelity, The Core is engineered to deliver “An acoustic marvel” with “Bone-shaking bass” compliments from its 5x custom-designed mid/high frequency strategically aligned speakers and a downward-firing woofer coupled with Absolute Bass Technology (ABT) which promises a real bass experience which can be felt and not just heard. On top of all that, the speaker is also fitted with several digital signal processors and an ARM processing core to ensure that the entire system is running optimally. The speaker’s amplifier is driven by 120 Watts of Digital Power and has a frequency response of 44Hz-20kHz.

The Core also comes with a wide array of features to tickle anyone’s fancy and you’d feel like a kid again once you get your hands on this Chrome-Acrylic-Fabric Bluetooth speaker. Without a shadow of doubt, the Core is all out to replace YOUR bulky home theater system with its simplified and space-conscious build as it comes with analog, digital and optical inputs for connection to video and audio sources respectively.

And to slap the icing atop the cake, the Core has a Battery life of “12 hours with a 2 hour charge time from empty,” Mass Fidelity claims.

With features and specs like that, what more would you want from a Class 1 Bluetooth speaker?

As of the time of this article, the Core is up for Pre-Order here with a price tag of $449 for one Core and $678 if you bundle it with a wireless subwoofer (for the all the bass-heads out there). Estimated delivery is June and July 2015 respectively. There are other options available as well, so do check them out if you’re looking for a wireless home sound system.
