Uber is experimenting with yet another new service. The difference is that this time, it is held at a location near us and relies on two-wheeled transports.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the ridesharing company is currently experimenting with a service called UberMOTO. This service is being trialled at Bangkok and relies on motorcycles instead of cars.

The key reason as to why Uber has decided to experiment with this service in Bangkok is due to the fact that motorcycles are a common form of transportation there. Also helping is the fact that traffic congestion is a major issue in Thailand’s capital.

For those who are in Thailand now, a option for UberMOTO will appear on the Uber app. The base rates of an UberMOTO ride is priced at THB 10 (RM 1.18), plus THB 3.5 (RM 0.41) a kilometer and THB 0.85 (RM 0.10) per minute. Payments can be made in cash or credit card.
