Torchlight developers unveils new game for PC and consoles

As a fan of both Torchlight games by developer Runic Games, I am actually quite excited to learn that they will be launching a new game called Hob for both PC and consoles. Hob is a game that does not have any text or dialogue, making it quite unique in a sense, and possibly eerily quiet.

The setting of Hob will be in a world that is beautiful and dangerous, with buzzing life above and machinery below. As a player, you are to join other players in discovering this world, and use your skills to transform the nature of the world itself. The gameplay we are expecting involved multi-layered puzzles with controller gameplay and stunning visuals.

So far, looking at the visuals and concept art released by Runic Games, we can see that the art style is cell-shaded with cute yet quirky characters and life forms. There is really nothing much said yet about the actual mechanics of the game, so for now we can only speculate.

Here is the teaser video launched on the Hob website at hobgame.com. Hopefully we can see gameplay videos soon so we can actually gauge what exactly is Hob all about. Runic Games will be launching its game during PAX Prime, which runs from August 28-31, so until then, enjoy whatever they have released for now.
