If you are an audiophile and you just can’t accept the audio streaming quality that most music services currently offer, you will be glad to know that TIDAL, the world’s first music streaming service to offer FLAC 16-bit 1411kbps audio stream is now available in Malaysia at the price of RM29.80/month, which is three times cheaper than its initial launch price and there’s a cheaper subscription package at RM14.90/month without the capability to stream HiFi audio.

TIDAL is available as an app on Android and iOS devices and on the PC and Mac, there’s still no offline client available yet and you can still stream HiFi music using Google Chrome on the web app. TIDAL has an extremely comprehensive music library that sports 25 million tracks and 75,000 music videos.

The app itself is very similar to Spotify and it features some similar set of features, you can listen to an artist radio, search music by mood and genres, but most importantly you will be able to watch music videos and stream up to 1080p video quality, which is not available in other music streaming services here.

One of my favorite features on TIDAL is the ability to search music without relying on a third party app with its Audio Search feature that uses Gracenote’s engine, TIDAL also allows users to choose offline files storage destination on their Android devices, which many music streaming apps have failed to introduce and is highly dependent on the way the operating system mounts its storage.

I’ve been using the service for five days now and I have to say while it still lacks many Asian genre pop songs, this service is definitely worth its price for its purpose of streaming FLAC audio and you just need to have a minimum 4 Mbps connection to be able to stream some lossless tunes to your ears, this is a service made for audiophiles and not for those who doesn’t have the ears to for listening to precision audio.

In addition to this, KLGadgetGuy is giving away ONE free 3-month access to TIDAL’s HiFi subscription service, so do comment down below on “Why I want HiFi audio” and we shall pick the lucky one to go with it!
